In the new training scenario "Welcome to the Deserted Island - DESIGN YOUR ISLAND -", a strategy using five Speed-type support cards together with the training character "Tucker Brine" has become wildly popular.
Although this setup usually relies on having several powerful, premium gacha cards, I (as a F2P trainer with limited resources) tested it with only two gacha cards and some free cards. Here's how it went:
🔧 Why Use 5 Speed Cards?
The goal is to trigger high-value Friendship Training (友情トレーニング) repeatedly, which gives the most stats and rating points. To do that, you want:
- Support cards with high "Training Focus" (得意率アップ)
- Ideally, those with unique bonuses that boost all stats
🏆 Best Speed Cards (Recommended Order)
- [Great Ambitions Soaring] El Condor Pasa - The premium choice with skill point boost
- [Eyes That Change the World] Almond Eye - Excellent all-around support
- [Devilish Whispers] Still In Love - Strong training focus bonus
- [Unveiled Dream] Rhein Kraft - Solid stats and bonuses
- [Dream of Alstroemeria] Vivlos - Good for F2P builds
- [Roaring Apoyando] Narita Brian - Alternative option
- [Bloodline Awakens] Duramente - Decent support card
- [Overheating Pressure] Kitasan Black - Classic choice
🧬 Inheritance Setup
Use speed-focused blue genes (ideally 9×9 Speed) to increase your Speed limit. This makes it easier to get higher final stats → higher rating. If you don't have such a horse, borrow one from a friend.
🧬 Gene Priority
Focus on Speed inheritance factors first. Blue genes with 9×9 Speed distribution are ideal, but even 6×6 or 3×3 can make a significant difference in your final rating.
🤝 Friend System
If you don't have optimal inheritance, use the friend system! Borrow a friend's Umamusume with perfect Speed genes to boost your training potential.
📈 Training Flow Strategy
The key to success is knowing when and where to train for maximum efficiency:
- During Summer Camp and URA Finals, always train Speed
- At other times, train the most efficient available stat
- Use Island Training when Speed cards are clustered there
- Prioritize fixing weaker stats like Stamina or Power after Speed is capped
🏗️ Recommended Facilities
Smart facility building is crucial for maximizing your training efficiency:
| Facility | Priority Level | Effect | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instinct Route: Speed Lv5 | 🔥 Essential | +100 Training Focus Bonus | Must-have for Speed x5 strategy |
| Instinct Route: Stamina Lv5 | 🔥 Essential | Stamina balance | Very important for race completion |
| Instinct Route: Power Lv4 | ⚡ Optional | Power stat boost | Helps round out stats, but not critical |
🎯 Final Thoughts & Test Results
Based on my F2P testing experience with limited premium cards:
✅ Pros
- Surprisingly high stats despite limited cards
- Could potentially hit UB rating tier with El Condor Pasa
- F2P friendly with proper card selection
- Consistent rating improvements
❌ Cons
- Too many skill points generated
- Not enough good skills to learn
- Better for rating farming than competitive PvP
- Power stat can be difficult to max
📚 Additional Tips for Success
Here are some extra insights to maximize your Deserted Island experience:
🎪 Event Management
Pay attention to island events that can restore energy or provide additional training bonuses. These can significantly impact your training efficiency.
⚡ Energy Optimization
Use the island's unique rest areas strategically. Unlike traditional scenarios, the island offers multiple ways to recover energy efficiently.
🏆 Rating Targets
With this setup, aim for A+ to UB rating. Even F2P builds can consistently hit A rating with proper execution of this strategy.
💡 Skill Selection
Focus on essential racing skills rather than trying to learn everything. Quality over quantity is key when you have too many skill points.
